Working in a male dominated industry

For those females out there that are thinking of working in this area but are put off by the fact that it is so male dominated, I would say not to worry about it!

The fact is that whilst it is no doubt male dominated this can be a good thing, because most companies these days have quotas and targets and should aim to employ some women.

Because there are so few women in coding then this can be a positive advantage and help you get a job, though working in a male dominated environment you just need to get used to as I can't see that changing anytime soon!

It cuts both ways, too...

It is pretty hard if you are a man to find a partner in the world of web design, IT and the internet in general because it is so male dominated.

So whilst many people meet their partner at work it is not so easy in this field because virtually everyone as you say is a man.

I do think women that work in this industry certainly do have to be comfortable in the company of men!
