Javascript making a comeback

It feels to me as though Javascript seems to be making a bit of a comeback lately.

I guess this is partly due to the increased use of things like Ajax and the many supporting javascript libraries out there now such as jquery which make it relatively simple to perform common actions like fades, drag and drops and so on.

Does anyone else ever get confused with variables in javascript then going back and forth to PHP? I find that if I've been doing some stuff with Javascript then go back to PHP I tend to omit the '$' at the start of the variable names for the first half hour or so of being back in PHP!

Yes I think the same - it definitely seems as though javascript is making a comeback.

I think with browser support being better than ever and many web browsers rewriting their javascript engine so it actually runs much quicker is a big step in supporting that.

Saying that pages in IE still seem to load more slowly than the other browsers.
